I have a laptop with Windows 8 as my server computer, which has a second monitor to it's left. The second monitor is setup as the primary display for the laptop/server within Windows (so the laptops internal screen is actually the system's secondary screen as Windows sees it). I have a dual-monitor Windows XP tower as the client. It's two screens sit directly above the laptop/second monitor screens, thus forming a square with all the screens, servers on bottom and clients on top. I am using the latest version of Synergy on both machines.
For what ever reason, no matter what config I try to use, my mouse will not leave my server laptop screen in an up or down direction. I can enter the laptop screen from any direction without trouble, and I can leave the laptop screen left and right without trouble. Just cant go up or down. In the whole system, this is the only screen that gives me any trouble, no matter where I put any screen.
The only solution I have found to this so far is to setup Windows Screen Configuration to let Windows 8 think the second screen is BELOW the laptop. Then Windows 8 lets me leave the screen top to bottom and left to right. So the issue is something to do with side by side Windows 8 Screen positioning configuration I am thinking. I have been all over the internet trying to find a solution for this, but cant seem to find any info that applies to this particular issue.
It drives me nuts because I have to go from the laptop screen, left to the laptops second screen, up to the client main screen, then right to the clients second screen, going into all four monitors just to go from lower right to upper right screens.
Anyone have any info on this at all?
