Ignore second monitor on client?

On the left I have a MacBook Pro running OS X v10.8.4 as a client, with an external monitor on the right, connected to a KVM. I also have a closed ThinkPad in a port replicator on the right, running Windows XP Pro SP3 as a server, beneath the external monitor, also connected to the KVM.

When not using synergy (I.E., KVM switched to Mac) I like having the monitor on the right, logically, which is basically where it is physically. When using synergy (I.E., KVM switched to ThinkPad), I like using the built-in display on the MacBook Pro, and the external monitor above the port replicator with the ThinkPad.

The problem which may or may not be obvious from the description is that if I position the ThinkPad to the right of the MacBook Pro in Synergy, there's "dead space" I have to cruise through between the visible display on the MacBook Pro and the external monitor. Is there any way to make the Synergy software "ignore" the second monitor on the MacBook Pro, so when I cruise off the right of the built-in display, it goes right to the external monitor (on the ThinkPad, logically) rather than into the "dead space" that's not currently mapped to any monitor? I'm envisioning a checkbox that says something like "ignore second monitor" on the client side, or perhaps, in the "Screen Settings" dialog for that client on the server. Or, maybe there's a way to tweek the setup files (I haven't even looked at them, having instead used "Configure Interactively.")

Thanks!
