client connects to server, but mouse won't move to server [Linux/Fedora]

Greetings, I've installed the 'official' Fedora RPMs for synergy (version 1.4.15) on two systems (server is Fedora20-x86_64, client is Fedora19-x86_64). I'm using XFCE on both client & server.

I configured the server ('tv') to accept connections from the client (dotllama). From the logs it looks like everything is setup & working correctly. On the client I see: NOTE: connecting to 'tv': 10.0.0.243:24800
NOTE: connected to server

On the server, I see: Jan 28 08:55:29 tv journal: Synergy 1.4.15: NOTE: accepted client connection
Jan 28 08:55:29 tv journal: Synergy 1.4.15: NOTE: client "dotllama" has connected

Yet, if I attempt to move my mouse (on the client) to the desktop of the server, it never leaves the desktop of the client. This is what my /etc/synergy.conf looks like on the server (tv):

##

section: screens
tv:
dotllama:
end

section: links
dotllama:
right = tv
tv:
left = dotllama
end

section: aliases
dotllama:
10.0.0.246
end

thanks in advance for any suggestions.
