Solved: Synergy Server Always Runs

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to synergy and seem to be experiencing weird behavior. First the specs:

Server: Win 7 (x64) running Synergy 1.4.12 Client: Linux Mint 14 (KDE x86) running Synergy 1.4.12

While I have synergy working, I can NOT seem to stop it on the server. Clicking the stop button does nothing. It shows "stopped" but I can still control the client. What's more, I can't 'start' it again so it shows the stop button, there's just a message saying "starting" although it continues to control the client.

A reboot does NOT help as it starts automatically. I don't even have the synergy server in my startup options. Finally, I can't seem to stop the service from ctrl+alt+delete -> services as it says I don't have permission.

Can anyone help me correctly stop it and then start it again so that it behaves as expected?

Edit: If I stop the client, then stop synergy, then exit synergy, it sometimes works. But then when I try to restart synergy... I get:

NOTE: connecting to service...
ERROR: ipc connection error, connection refused

The only way to fix this is a reboot, logging on and off does not help.

Solution: After some more googling the ipc connection error, some people noted that that x64 version is troublesome. I uninstalled x64 and reinstalled the 32 bit version. Now it works exactly as expected. Server starts/stops as it's supposed to and I have full control. I believe this to be a bug in the 64 bit version.
