left handed mouse buttons does not work

Hi. I have tried to find answers to my problem.

I have two machines, one windows and one Linux (FC19). On the windows box the buttons are correctly set as left handed. When I move to the Linux box the buttons swap. I know that the buttons are set correctly in the system settings, because when I use a mouse hocked to the computer it works.

I have tried to change the settings in the config file on the CLIENT starting it as

synergy --config /mypath/synergy.conf

the settings:

mousebutton(1) = mouseDown(3); mouseUp(3) mousebutton(3) = mouseDown(1); mouseUp(1)

does not work ... any ideas anyone?
