Mouse on client slow

I am running the server on mac osX and have a Windows7 client. The mouse is very lagging and skips ahead regularly. I've scoured the forum (here and others) looking for a solution. I have turned off scroll lock and set logging to Error (assuming that is the lowest). These did not seem to help. I am connecting wirelessly so maybe that is typical - not sure. Any input is appreciated.

I have been running Synergy for ~6 months, and within the past two weeks, I've run across a painful bug twice that I haven't seen until now... I can't move my mouse from the server machine (Win7 64-bit) to the client machine (Win XP). I've tried restarting the appropriate Synergy service on each machine to remedy the problem, but the only thing that seems to fix it is rebooting the server machine. I can get to the client machine by using the Hot Keys I've set up, and the log output on both machines shows the client connecting just fine to the server. Does anybody know of a solution that doesn't require me to reboot the server machine?

Hello,

Maybe this has been answered but I searched tags and couldn't find anything. Whenever I am installing software on the client pc I cannot move the mouse to the client. Same when I run anything that requires Administrative power. This happens on windows 8.1 and my uac is turned off. Is this because of configuration settings or is this a limitation of the software? Love the program hopefully its just some settings I need to change. Thanks for any answers.

Where is the "Start Synergy [server | client] when the application starts?

Title says it all. 1.4.14, the ability to start the synergy client or server when the application starts has been removed from Windows, Linux, and OS X clients. Previously, I had set my Linux and OS X clients to remember what apps were open and to autologin on boot, and synergy would start and connect to my WIndows server automagically. Now, however, that is not the case.

I even donated to get a premium account, hoping it would enable this function, but did not. 1.4.12 had this ability. Seems like a downgrade to me, unless this function was simply just hidden.

Connection between Windows 7 and OS X 10.6.8 suddenly stopped working

I've been using Synergy for quite awhile without issue between a Windows 7 Synergy client and OS X 10.6.8 Synergy server. Suddenly, last night it stopped working. I was running 1.4.12 on both nodes. The connection from Windows 7 appears to be established but, according to the log, after 15 seconds or so it times out. On the Mac, the log doesn't show any connection from a client. Here's what I've tried so far:

  • Updating to 1.4.14 on both client and server (unsuccessful)
  • Disable firewalls on both client and server (unsuccessful)
  • ping from Windows to Mac (successful)
  • ssh from Windows to Mac (successful)
  • Telnet from Windows 7 to Mac on port 24800 (connection appears to be established)
  • Telnet from Mac to localhost on port 24800 (connection appears to be established)
  • Telnet from Linux system to Mac on port 24800 (connection appears to be established)
  • Change port from 24800 to 10000 (unsuccessful)
  • Change Mac ip address to static instead of DHCP (unsuccessful)
  • Disable encryption (unsuccessful)
  • Reverse client/server roles. Windows 7 as server and Mac as client (unsuccessful)
  • Completely uninstall Synergy on both computers, reboot, re-install (unsuccessful)

With debug logging enabled I observed the following:

  • Windows 7 as server
    • a connection was established
    • "hello" message was sent from Windows 7 to OS X
    • waiting for response and then timeout (apparently no response received)
    • On OS X log, a connection is established but no further communications.
  • OS X as server

    • client established a connection
    • waited for "hello" message
    • timeout
    • On OS X log, no connection message appears.

It appears that Synergy on the Mac has just stopped communicating (even after deleting Synergy, rebooting and starting a new version). As far as I can tell nothing else changed on either system when the problem occurred. It just stopped working and hasn't worked since. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I am trying to install synergy on a newly installed system (opensuse 13.1). I had no problem compiling synergy on my older installation, but now the configure script ends with the following error:

CMake Error at tools/CMakeLists.txt:87 (add_library): Cannot find source file: cryptopp562/3way.cpp

I have the following packages installed on my system:

i | gnu-crypto | GNU Crypto i | libcryptopp-5_6_2-0 | Cryptographic Library for C++ i | libcryptopp-5_6_2-0-32bit | Cryptographic Library for C++ i | libcryptopp-devel | Cryptographic Library for C++

Any ideas how to make this work?

Windows 7 to OSX 10.6.8 not working

Running 1.4.15 on both, followed the tutorials for setup. When I try to run, I get this:

INFO: Synergy 1.4.15 Server on Microsoft Windows 7 x64

NOTE: started server, waiting for clients

INFO: watchdog status: ok

NOTE: accepted client connection

INFO: crypto mode: cfb

NOTE: new client disconnected

Anyone that can help, please do.

Mouse Gets stuck in client on windows 7

Hi, I am using windows 7 64bit as the server(laptop) and windows 7 32 bit as the client(desktop). Randomly my mouse gets stuck on the client. I am able to use the keyboard but neither can i get the mouse back into server or can do anything on the client. On left clicking all i can do is toggle the show desktop button. The only way to release the mouse is to open the windows taks manager or client and kill the synergyc.exe program. This releases the mouse but everytime after doing this i move the mouse into client it gets stuck.

I am using a USB mouse attached to the laptop(server) and not the inbuilt trackpad.

Can anyone help me in this situation?

Mouse stops responding and becomes invisible on client

Windows 7 64 as server, Windows 7 x86 as client. Scroll lock not on. Version 1.4.15 I noticed that the mouse randomly stops being displayed. I turned off the desktop "Fences" app I have on the client and this helps with the issues but they still occur. I noticed that when I enable "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key" option in control panel - mouse, I can locate the mouse pointer on both the server and on the bottom right corner of the client. The mouse cursor is invisible though. The only way to recover is to restart the Synergy service on the client, or to shut it down.

I use a few apps that might cause these issues, Microsoft CRM / Bombgar Rep Console / Outlook, etc.. These apps sometimes dominate the screen with sub-windows... but I would think that the mouse would be visible. I see some options to make dead corners in the config, has anyone tried these options and if so what do they do?
