A couple of problems re starting Synergy and elevated programs

Hello everyone,

I have just started using Synergy and while I really like what I'm seeing so far, I'm also running into a couple of problems.

My current configuration: server is Ubuntu x86, client is Win 7 laptop.

1) If either the server or client is set on the "Service" process mode, it will be stuck on "Synergy is starting," with no further information. The log only spits this out:

NOTE: command: /usr/bin/synergys -f --no-tray --debug DEBUG2 --name Russ-LabMachine --crypto-mode gcm --crypto-pass 2e50b9409378bcf68fc9a22ab8e877a1 --ipc -c /tmp/qt_temp.i20867 --address :24800
NOTE: config file: /tmp/qt_temp.T20867
NOTE: log level: DEBUG2

And it just gets stuck there. It's essentially the same for the Windows version.

A quick search on the Internet shows that there is a workaround: change process mode to legacy. Everything works fine, then, until...

2) If I have a window in the Windows computer open with elevated (administrator) privileges, I find that it will not accept any input from the server computer. I also notice that the Elevate checkbox on the Synergy client is greyed out when I switch the process mode to legacy. Since I can't use the service mode, I can't think of a way to be able to use Synergy with elevated programs in the Windows client.

Is there a solution for either of these?

Thanks, all!
